Problem Definition

Customers would like to provide a set of Assets Objects for an Assets Custom Field based on the chosen Request Type for the Request.

Suggested Solution

Provide the Request Type Field as a System Field so that it can be used as a Placeholder.
Work Type can already be used, but Work Type has a 1-to-many relationship to Request Types, so that's not a reliable way to do so. This article talks about that:

Using an Assets Custom Field with a Default Value would be a workaround if Filter Issue Scope would work on hidden Fields:
