User Problem
Currently, the Operations global admin role can only be assigned manually through the Products > Operations > Role Assignment page. This limitation presents challenges for organizations seeking more efficient and automated user management processes.
While users with the Product admin role for Jira Administration automatically receive the same permissions as an Operations global admin, this approach grants admin permissions across all Jira products. This broad access may not align with the security needs of organizations requiring more granular control over permissions.
Suggested Solutions
Introduce a new selectable role option called "Operations Global Admin" within the Jira Service Management (JSM) product roles.
Being able to set team admin roles from Atlassian Admin would be nice as well.
Key Benefits:
- Expanded Role Selection: Users will have access to a more comprehensive set of role options, including the "Operations Global Admin" role.
- Improved Group Assignment: Enable the assignment of this new role to groups, streamlining the process of managing permissions for multiple users simultaneously.
- Enhanced Permission Management: By allowing group-based role assignment, administrators can more efficiently control and update access levels across the organization.
- Increased Flexibility: This addition will provide greater flexibility in defining and managing operational responsibilities within the JSM environment.
- Alignment with Organizational Needs: The new role option will better accommodate the specific administrative requirements of operations teams.
