Description
As of now, when configuring custom domains, we need to have different domains for the Jira Products (Jira, JSM) and the Help Center.
Though the Jira projects portal and the Helpcenter customer portal are different entities, it is part of the same system. Having different domains does not provide a seamless user experience.
Customer comment:
We understand that Jira and the Help Center are technically separate entities. However, from our users' perspective, they are both integral parts of the same system. To provide a seamless and unified user experience, we strive to maintain a consistent domain URL across all our platforms, and we don't have any plans to have multiple Jira sites or JSM help centers.
Our organization operates globally with a strong commitment to standardized system URLs. Introducing a different domain URL for the Help Center would deviate from this established practice and could lead to confusion among our users. It could also complicate internal processes and potentially impact our security protocols which are built around our dedicated domains & URLs.
We appreciate your escalating our request and seeking potential exceptions. We believe a single, unified domain will significantly enhance our user experience and streamline our global operations.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. As per the current product design it is impossible to have the same domain for both the entities.
