Currently, in Jira automation, the minimum delay allowed for actions is 10 seconds. This limitation can cause unnecessary delays in certain workflows, especially for teams requiring more immediate actions following specific triggers. Many users have requested the ability to set a shorter delay, such as 1-5 seconds, to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of their automation rules.
Feature Request:
We request the ability to configure a delay shorter than the current minimum of 10 seconds in JSM automation. This would allow users to customize their workflows more precisely, enabling faster actions and reducing waiting times for rules that require minimal delay.
Current Workaround:
As a temporary workaround, multiple refetch actions can be used, though this doesn't guarantee precise control over the delay. Alternatively, users can split their automation rules into smaller, simpler rules to avoid the need for shorter delays. While this method reduces rule complexity and helps prevent hitting component limits, it does not solve the need for faster execution within a single automation flow.
Hi Shakti,
We are unable to offer a delay shorter than 10 seconds as we are unable to guarantee that a shorter delay can be respected as there's often latency between the service running a rule and the service where the action is taking place.
