      Issue Summary

Default request type feature incorrectly updates the request type when issue's Parent is updated to an Epic using an automation rule during issue creation

      Steps to Reproduce

      • Create an automation rule in the project/site using following steps:
      • Trigger:
      • Edit Issue Field Action:
      • Enable Default request type feature in the project and set default request type for an issue type in the project:

      Expected Results

The request type for the newly created issue should stay to the value chosen by the end user at time of issue creation.

      Actual Results

The request type of the newly created issue is modified by this feature to the value set in the feature for the corresponding issue type:

The request is set as "Get a guest wifi account" however when this ticket was created the request type was "Fix an account problem".

      Workaround

Disable this feature or the automation rule to prevent this behaviour in case automation is used to update Parent field of an issue to an Epic.
