Update 15-Jan-25:  This update includes both good and bad news. The bad news is that we need to move our Data Manager Schema Importer timeline out to mid 2025, however we’re looking for opportunities to accelerate, where possible.

Enough of the bad, to the good news!

We've listened to your updates here and see that its critical for the Data Manager Schema Importer to map against existing data and structures, so that is what we're looking to deliver.

The Data Manager Schema Importer will be able to load data into any schema in a similar vain to how the CSV importer works but you'll be able to select a Data Manager Saved Search as the source.

Native capability to transfer data from Data Manager into an Assets schema.

      Use Case

As a customer who is using Assets Data Manager, I would like to easily transfer my cleansed and reconciled data from Data Manager into a schema.

      Workaround

Export CSV file from Data Manager's saved searches and import into a schema.

An automated, bidirectional data transfer please.

Still on track for Q1 2025?  If so, how can we sign up for Early Access to test it out?  This is piece of functionality will make this tool closer to a true ETL solution.  Thank you!

This would be a huge step forward to automate the import of the data for us into an asset scheme.
Should we be able to expect this to be enabled automatically or do we need to sign up for an EAP?

Will the import app beta allow automatic/scheduled import from Data Manager into assets, or will manual import execution be required?

So just to clear up, the app that will be released in Q1 hopefully will have schemas, objects and attributes hard-coded into them? Just want to understand if the app will be able to be customized and import attributes in a production environment for a customer.

ronsmansdirk should have remained in closed beta I meant to say.

We switched our asset management to JSM Assets under the impression that this key functionality would be available from day one.

Having to manually export data to a CSV and then manually import into the schema means our assets database is never as accurate/current as it should be.

Assets Data Manager should really have remained in beta until schema imports could be dynamically run.

Hi everyone, thank you for your ongoing feedback. As per 38ceee00df71's update we are working on a first candidate to allow the transfer of data into a schema. Please also note that Data Manager is still in Beta, and we are continuing to heavily evolve its capabilities. This applies to both the data transfer into schemas, and Data Manager as a whole. We really appreciate your feedback, and please rest assured that this feature is one of our top priorities.
