Assets APIs (https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/assets/rest/api-group-object/#api-object-aql-post) don’t give access to the asset labels when are called by a user who is not a JSM agent.

As this API is used by app vendors, the ask is to have this API limitation removed, so that third-party apps can behave as customers expect (and as Jira itself behaves).
