Issue Summary
The JSM Splunk app used in Splunk to integrate Splunk and Jira Service Management via the integration is currently not working as expected in the Cloud Version of Splunk.
Steps to Reproduce
- Configure a Splunk integration in JSM and connect with the Cloud version of Splunk.
- Trigger an Alert from Splunk.
Expected Results
An alert is created in Jira Service Management
Actual Results
Alert is not created when an alert is pushed from Cloud version of Splunk.
Response from Splunk Support Team:
"I see that the app Jira Service Management For Splunk is only compatible with Splunk Enterprise and not with Splunk Cloud at the moment. PFA: Please find the reasons why the app did not meet security and functionality requirements for Splunk Cloud: check_for_secret_disclosure 'api_key' is being appended in URL. Passing secret information in the URL is not allowed in Splunk Cloud. File: bin/jsm-splunk-plugin.py Line: 67
The enterprise version of Splunk works as expected.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
