Color contrast, color contrast ratio and Reflow issues in help center (Accessibility: Section 508 compliance in Help Center)

      Creating this ticket to deal with color contrast and color contrast ratio and reflow issues that have been observed in the Help Center/Portal.

      Improvements are needed to ensure color contrast and color contrast ratio standards are met along with reflow issues to comply with WCAG checklist

      1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)

      AA 2.0

      • Text and images of text have a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1.
      • Large text - at least 18 point (typically 24px) or 14 point (typically 18.66px) and bold - has a contrast ratio of at least 3:1.

      1.4.10 Reflow

      AA 2.1

      • No loss of content or functionality occurs, and horizontal scrolling is avoided when content is presented at a width of 320 pixels.

      Specific examples of where this has been observed:

      1. The text such as “Welcome to the Help center“ present in main content of “Help center“ page failing minimum color contrast requirement of 4.5:1.
      2. On the “Request view” page, content fails to reflow when viewed at 320 * 256-pixel resolution - The content present in the text area is getting cut off.
      3. The text such as “Get IT help in ITSM” fails the minimum color contrast requirement of 4.5:1.
      4. The color contrast for focus indicator of a user interface control such as “Your Profile and Settings” fails minimum colour contrast requirements of 3:1.
      5. On the “Raise a request” page, the border of input fields present in the main content fails the minimum color contrast requirement of 3:1.
      6. On hover, the text such as “Send” fails the minimum color contrast requirement of 4.5:1.
      7. The options text present for "What can we help you with?" field such as "Get IT Help", "Request a new account" and "Report a system problem" etc fails minimum colour contrast requirement of 4.5:1 on hover and selected state.
      8. The placeholder text such as “e.g. 15/Apr/24”, “e.g. 03:23 PM“, and so on, fails the minimum color contrast requirement of 4.5:1.
      9. On the “Ticket Details” page, Insufficient color contrast is observed for standard text.
      10. The border of the input field such as “Add a comment” is failing minimum color contrast requirements
      11. The color contrast for focus indicator of a user interface controls such as “Hide details“, ”Actions”, and soon controls fails minimum colour contrast requirements of 3:1.
      12. The foreground and background color combination ratio for the focus indicator of the “Created by” option is less than 3:1.
      13. The color contrast for the “Ascending”, and “Descending” sort buttons, does not meet the minimum color contrast ratio i.e. 3:1.
      14. The “ITSM” text, fails the minimum color contrast requirement of 4.5:1.
      15. On the “Requests Table” page, the border of input fields present in the main content fails the minimum color contrast requirement of 3:1.
