      Problem

      • A customer has an existing connection from Jira / JSM to Slack via Jira Service Management ChatOPs set up.
      • Somewhere along the way, the JSM ChatOps application is either removed from the Slack instance or the user that set up the app is deactivated.
      • This leads to users not being able to create Slack Chat Channels from the Incident tickets inside of JSM.
      • So far, the steps to fix this seem to involve tearing down the existing connection in Jira and reestablish it by doing the following:
        1) Remove the current workspace connection from Project Settings -> Incident Management
        2) Remove the current workspace connection from Jira Settings -> Products -> Chat and video tools.
        3) Add the same workspace back to Jira Settings -> Products -> Chat and video tools.
        4) Add the same workspace back to Project Settings -> Incident Management, and then test to see if channels can now be created from Incident tickets.
      • When the connection is removed during steps 1 and 2, the Chat Channel Field containing a link to the Slack channel is cleared from the Incident ticket.
      • After the connection to the workspace is restored in steps 3 and 4, the customer is unable to re-connect the ticket to the existing Slack channel via the "Create Channel" link in the Chat Channel field by typing in the name of the channel that the ticket was originally tied to.

      Suggestion

Please provide functionality that will allow admins to backup / restore, or preserve any chat channels that were set up for an Incident in the event that the JSM ChatOps app integration is disrupted and needs to be reestablished.
