Issue Summary
Customer is getting an error when they try to setup a chat with MS teams. They are probably using a different email address than what was used earlier to set it up.
Current set up:
we currently depend on the "mail" property for User objects in Teams as opposed to the UPN. We cannot default to using UPN as the point of reference because it is not a configurable field and because it will pose problems for the many guest/invite users in Teams given our current implementation. Changing this would require a huge infrastructure change to our implementation.
Expected Results
Allow MS teams to integrate with Jira chat using different email addresses at both ends.
Actual Results
User is getting the error: "Your email addresses don't match. You're signed into Teams with a different email address than you've signed into this site with. Make sure the email addresses you use for this site and Teams match, then try again."
Workaround
Engineering's recommendation is for the user to change their email address either in Jira or in MS teams to ensure they use the same email address for integration.
