Creation of MS teams chat channel fails with 422 error

      Issue Summary

      Creating a MS Team chat channel for an incident via JSM (Jira Service Management) is resulting in 422 error.

      Known criteria/limitations with MS teams

      • Atlassian Account & MS Chat email ID must be same
      • Must have between 3 ~ 20 participants
      • Must not use special characters in chat topic ie:
        ~ # % & * { } + / \ : < > ? | ' "
        

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Open a incident ticket
      2. In the Details section, find the Microsoft Teams field and select Create chat or meeting.
      3. Under the Type field, select Chat.
      4. Add people to chat using the Participants field.
      5. Select Create.

      Expected Results

      Successful creation of chat channel

      Actual Results

      Fails with following error message:

      Error server response: 422
      

      Workaround

      Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
