Description
Issue Summary
For workflows that have two approval steps, users might randomly get the "Something bad happened" error message after approving the requests from the e-mail notifications, the portal page loads with the "Something bad happened" message, even with the error the issue is normally approved.
There are no actual blockers to the issue workflow and the approvals happen successfully, however the users get a misleading message indicating the approval failed.
Steps to Reproduce
Requirements:
- Set up a workflow that has two approvals one immediately after the other
Example:
Using the approval button on the email:
- Create a new issue
- As the approver, once the approval notification arrives click "Approve"
- The portal page will open and show "Something bad happened" error
- As the second approver, once the approval notification arrives click "Approve"
- The portal page will open and show "Something bad happened" error
- Open the ticket and confirm that the approvals were successfully processed
From the Jira UI:
- Create a new issue
- As the approver, open the issue and click approve
- A pop-up error will appear at the bottom left of the screen with the error "We couldn’t save your approval response"
- Even with the error the approval will be processed and the issue will move to the next approval status
- As the second approver, open the issue and click approve
- A pop-up message will appear at the bottom left with the message "We've saved your response."
- Check the status and confirm that both approvals were successfully processed
Expected Results
All approvals present the success message.
Actual Results
User randomly gets "Something bad happened" error.
