Description
Problem Definition
Unlike in Jira custom number fields, number attributes in JSM Assets do not display thousand separators or change the decimal separator based on the user's locale.
Some examples:
The value 10000.5 is displayed differently in a Jira custom number field and in an Assets attribute
In a Jira custom field, the value will be shown as "10,000.5".
In an Assets attribute (both Float and Integer) the value will be shown as "10000.5"
Additionally, if you change the locale to Danish, the separators are updated in Jira custom fields.
In a Jira custom field, the value with the locale set to Danish will be displayed as "10.000,5".
In Assets, the attribute will still be shown as "10000.5".
Suggested Solution
Similarly to what happens to the value shown in a Jira custom field, update the attribute value to be shown with a thousand separator and decimal separator that matches the user's locale.
Why this is important
To avoid confusion and to keep the experience consistent between Jira and Assets.
Workaround
There is no workaround available at the moment.
