Automation rule doesn't fire when issues are approved/declined via email button by unlicensed user

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

Automation rule with Approval completed trigger doesn't fire when issues are approved/declined via email button by portal only customers or by the unlicensed Jira users.

Rule fires when the issue is approved/declined from the portal by the same portal only.
If licensed Jira users approve/decline via email button then the rule fires.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. On the JSM project set up a workflow with approval.
      2. Under customer notification > Approval required option "Approvers can use 'Approve' and 'Decline' buttons without being signed in" is selected.
      3. Setup A4J rule, with trigger Approval completed with any action.
      4. Create a new issue and set the approval as portal customers.
      5. Transitions the issue to an approval stage of its workflow.
      6. Approval should receive an email notification. Now approve/decline the request from the 'Approve' or 'Decline' button within the email.

      Expected Results

      • The rule should fire.

      Actual Results

      • The rule doesn't fire.

      Workaround
