    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Use case

Sometimes, we might have a custom field that is required, but we do not necessarily need a value for that specific form so we could set a default value and hide the field from the users.

For example, the Epic issue type has the "Epic Name" set as required and we can't mark that as optional so it would be nice to have the option to set a default value and hide the field for the users.

We have a need for this, where some values of "intake request type" we want our internal customers to be able to select, but hide other options, as the ones we wish to hide are generated via another team inputting their requests directly and cannot come in via our form BUT will still need customer review & approval via the customer portal.
