Problem
Currently it is not possible to select an object twice in an Insight custom field that can hold multiple values. If an object is set in an Insight custom field, it no longer appears for selection again.
Suggested Solution
It should be possible to select the same object twice in an Insight custom field that can hold multiple values.
Why This Is Important
Use Case:
Let us have insight field objects with Monitor A and Monitor B
How it works now:
customer picks Monitor A
customer wants to pick another monitor
Monitor A can no longer be selected. Only Monitor B is possible.
How we want it:
customer picks Monitor A
customer wants to pick another monitor
customer can select another Monitor A and Monitor B
Workaround
In the Jira issue, include multiple Insight custom fields with the option Field can store multiple values disabled. This would mean that each Insight custom field would represent one asset type and would then allow for the same type to be selected multiple times.

This is exactly what I am after. We would like to have "generic" assets in Insight. For instance "HDMI cable". These assets have no serial number or other specifics, so we don't want to have each single item stored separately in Insight but rather have a single object for this item and be able to reference the same item multiple times on the same issue, in a single multiple-value field.
Adding my voice to this as something that just bought me to a hard stop when I realised you can't select the same item twice. For an onboarding process or purchasing assets for an employee who needs multiple monitors (which was my case and the example used) it's a show stopper.
The selections are made from a 'shopping list' perspective so there is one entry in the 'Supported Monitors' for each monitor someone could need, this is where someone selecting the values needs to select the same item two or even three times depending on the complexity of the setup.
Would love to see this rolled out.
