The original estimate, Time Spent and remaining estimate fields constitue a great feature of Jira. However, it should be possible to customize the way it displays in the web interface and in various exports (excel).

Examples for us: we need to know the number of days/m that need to be spent on a particular issue. The current patern is confusing (need to translate weeks into days, etc). Best would be something like 24,5 days (exported as 24,5 in excel) instead of 4 weeeks 4 days and 4 hours.

The best would be to be able to configure a pattern in some configuration file.

If I could this by myself from the source, please let me know. We use 3.4.1 Enterprise Edition.
