Expecting Atlassian to provide restoration of JIRA ticket feature when any user deletes it by mistake to avoid any data loss. There should be something like “Recycle Bin” or “Trash” so when any user deletes ticket by mistake, he may recover it from there if requires.”

      AND

Atlassian should also think to provide roll back feature on PROJECT LEVEL so whenever issues are deleted OR updated with incorrect values by mistake, users should be able to restore data on original state on PROJECT LEVEL to avoid data loss from JIRA portal itself. For this Atlassian may have to provide RESTORE feature on PROEJCT LEVEL and for this should allow PROEJCT ADMIN to schedule job for backup of the project.

JIRA is used by thousands of users across the bank for project management and that is the reason we would need this feature to be available to make our environment safe and secure.

Atlassian provided solution to restore project through xml zip backup but it’s not a good solution because to restore a specific set of deleted issues, user has to delete all issues from the project and have to restore the whole project.

We can see following 2 tickets one raised  in 2014 and another raised in 2016 but still don’t see any progress on it. We are using Data Center edition of JIRA Software hosted on multiple nodes.

As you know this is very very helpful feature for any end user and Atlassian should think how to protect users data if it might have deleted/updated by mistake.

Can you please arrange a call with product team to understand what is the roadmap to implement this feature ?

We tried following methods provided by Atlassian but it's not that much of useful

      1. Restoration of Project (through xml daily jira backup available on server) -            We tried this option but , only solution is to restore the whole project. For that we have to delete all JIRA tickets in the project (limitation in JIRA) and need to plan to restore using xml backup which is very time consuming activity. If small no of issues in a project, may be ok but if large no of issues > 3000, we need to spend a lot of time for deletion as well as it may impact to
      2. Restoration of specific set of JIRA (no option available or CSV import which lost history of JIRA ticket - Restore of data through CSV , does not retain history of the ticket which does not look good workaround.

May we know when Atlassian is going to plan to implement such feature  or how we can prioritize so you can implement ASAP.

      Thank you
