      Atlassian Update – 06 June 2024

      Dear Customers,

We're happy to announce that this issue is fixed in 9.15.2 release. Learn more about the release

Before the fix, clicking edit on a gadget in the top-left position would cause shift of other gadgets that would end up in an overlap that required slightly dragging any gadget to force layout update and fix positioning of the gadgets.

After the fix, users will not have to resort to any workarounds. After clicking the edit button on the top-left gadget, the layout will be properly rendered with all gadgets placed in their correct places.

      Best regards,

      Artur Falborski

      Issue Summary

On a Dashboard, when a user clicks Edit on a gadget in the top-left position to modify the configuration of Assigned to MeFilter Results or Text (these are the ones tested with, not an extensive list), the page will not properly move the gadgets below to accommodate the bigger size of the target gadget while on the configuration mode.

When the user clicks Save, the page will also not update the placement of gadgets in the dashboard, leaving blank spaces.

It requires another action such as moving any of the gadget slightly to trigger an update in dashboard placement.

While JRASERVER-74941 seems to have addressed most of the problem, it is still possible to reproduce the behavior for the top-left gadget in a dashboard.

This is reproducible on Data Center: yes

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Fresh JSW install on 9.4.10, 9.4.11 or 9.11.0+ (previous versions will have the issue regardless of the placement of the gadget per JRASERVER-74941).
      2. Create a new blank dashboard.
      3. Add two or more Assigned to Me gadget to the left-column.
      4. Save them with any configuration.
      5. Click Edit on the top-left gadget.

Note: the same could be reproducible with the Text gadget and Filter Results gadget.

      Expected Results

The gadget will expand to show the configuration settings and the gadget below will be relocated to be properly spaced below it.

      Actual Results

The gadget configuration page presented after clicking Edit will not trigger a relocation of the other gadgets, causing it to overlap with the gadget below.

      Workaround

After clicking edit, you may slightly drag any of the gadgets and that will triggers a refresh of their location. This is shown at the end of the video above.
