As a Jira Admin I want to know if Jira instance is connected to Authentication infrastructure

      Problem Definition

      It's not easy to understand and troubleshoot if Jira can connect the corresponding LDAP/Crowd servers during the authentication flow.

      Suggested Solution

      Create a connection state metric for every type of user directory except Internal user directory. This operation is done once a minute and measured by performing user search on an un-cached user directory.
