Issue Summary

The images inside description field don’t contain any alternative text.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Turn on screen reader & Navigate to Jira.
2. Open any issue which have images inside description field.
3. Observe that the image don't have alt text.

Actual Results

The images present inside the "description" field doesn’t contain any alternative text. When screen reader users navigate the images it announces the file name incorrectly.

This makes screen reader users difficult to understand the purpose of images.

Expected Results

All the images should have alternate text so that users who can’t perceive the image can benefit from alt text.

The alternative text can be provided via "alt" attribute to <img> elements. The alternative text should describe the contents of the image.

If the image is used for decorative purposes then empty alt should be provided to the images.

Here the user have option to upload image so while uploading they should be able to provide alternate text & if user doesn’t provide any then some Default text or empty alt text can be set.

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
