Issue Summary
The dashboard gadgets do not align correctly after a collapse or a refresh. To make them appear properly the gadgets need to be kept expanded and then hit a refresh
This is reproducible on Data Center: yes
The issue has resurfaced in the latest version also.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install and Setup Jira 9.x.x
- Create a dashboard with a few gadgets
- Collapse a gadget and observe that the gadget below does not align itself
- Hit a refresh and observe a black space after the gadget that collapsed earlier
- Now expand all the gadgets and hit refresh to get a clear view

Expected Results
Gadgets to be aligned properly according to the space available
Actual Results
Gadgets do not align properly after the collapse or a browser refresh
Workaround
Expand all the gadgets and hit a refresh on the browser. All the gadgets will load correctly in their respective spaces.
Additionally you may slightly drag any of the gadgets with minimal movement and that will already trigger a refresh of all gadget's location.
