Unhelpful error message when checking fields after workflow transition

If you have a transition that updates a field (resolution for example) that is required, the message below is shown. "resolution=Resolution" doesn't really make much sense.

• Unable to execute post workflow function. Issue may be in an inconsistent state. Please inform your system administrators immediately. Validation of the field 'resolution' failed: [] {resolution=Resolution is required.}
