Issue Summary
For Date Picker custom field, there's a message "Use the d/MMM/yy date format" in addition to the description. This message can't be changed or removed (if we change the jira.date.picker.java.format, the message will change to reflect the new format but the message remains). This confuses users as there are two messages now - one that's added as description and another one which is default as above. This started showing up from v8.19.0 but don't find anything related in release notes
This is reproducible on Data Center: (yes)
Steps to Reproduce
- Install Jira Server/DC version > v8.19.0
- Create a Date Picker custom field (Jira Administration --> Issues --> Custom Fields). Give a description to the custom field and associate to screen and project.
- Create an issue where that screen shows.
Expected Results
- The description added to the custom field shows below the field
Actual Results
- The description added to the custom field shows below the field but there's another default message that says "Use the d/MMM/yy date format" (please see the attachment). This second message can not be removed and confuses users.
Workaround
Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
