In the To do, In Progress and Done column of the active sprint board the status of the issues is not announced to the screen reader user. The screen reader is not able to understand which issues belong in which status.

      Platform: Jira DC

      Version: 8.22.0

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Navigate to the main content area in the To do, In Progress and Done grid.
      2. Navigate through the available issues in the main content area.

      Screenshot

      Actual Behaviour

In the main content area of the active sprints, the issues which are available, when the screen reader user navigates through the issues, they are not able to understand the status of the issues. The issues are present in the To Do , In Progress and Done columns, but it is difficult for the screen reader to understand its status as the screen reader only announces the issues name, key and assigned too etc.

      Expected Result

When the user navigates through the issues the screen reader should announce the status of the issue, where the issue is present. For eg. if the issue is in the To Do column then for a sample issue it should announce as “SS-7 - To Do“ or if in Done, then “SS-8 - Done“.

Associate the To Do, In Progress and Done columns headers with the issues in the main content area.

Specify ARIA role "status" and set aria-live as "polite" for the issues. This will ensure that the screen reader will identify the current issues when the status is changed
