Issue Summary
When trying to create a hyperlink from Lotus Notes on a issue, the URL field does not accept it as a valid URL link:
But Jira willing to accept Lotus Notes links as a hyperlink in many other fields, without causing errors, on the same given issue. Fields such as:
- Custom field of type URL
- Custom field of type text
- Using the linking feature of an issue
Since this hyperlink works in many different fields, being rendering in some of them and another one doesnt. The inconsistency when comes about Lotus Notes creates confusion among Jira users that see themselves having to open tickets requesting why they cannot use the hyperlink in a manner when the same works in a different field.
Steps to Reproduce
- On an open issue, click on option More> Link:
- Choose option "Web Link" and insert a Lotus Notes Hyperlink
Expected Results
What should be expected to happen would be Lotus Notes reference becoming an accepted hyperlink.
Actual Results
The result is Jira rejecting the Lotus Notes link with the error: "Invalid 'URL'. Make sure you include the full URL (e.g. http://www.google.com)"
Workaround
Users can use a "dummy" URL and place Lotus Notes link at the link text section on Web Link page.
