    Description

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. In your profile settings, configure external links to open in new tabs.
      2. Add a custom field of type URL.
      3. On any issue set it to an external website, e.g. ecosystem.atlassian.net.
      4. Click on the link.

      Expected Results

      The website opens in a new tab

      Actual Results

      The website replaces the currently viewed issue.

      Workaround

      Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available.
