Opening external links in new tabs doesn't work in Activity Stream

Steps to Reproduce

1. Go to your profile page and enable opening external links in new tab
2. Add a comment with a link to external website or add such link to the description
3. Open the "Activity" tab for the issue or navigate to a dashboard with Activity Stream gadget
4. Click the previously added external link that now has appeared as an item in Activity Stream

Expected Results

External link should open in new tab, as they do inside comments, for example.

Actual Results

Clicking on the link in Activity Stream replaces the current page.

Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
