Issue
- Currently, if you forward a mail as an attachment using Microsoft Outlook (or if you directly attach an email as an attachment), it shows up in a JIRA issue as a file with no extension. Because there is no extension, clicking on the file does not open it in the appropriate way and file is not readable.
- If the same mail attachment was sent to Jira via the mail web browser, the file extension exists in the original email and the .msg file can be viewed correctly.
Cause
- It is because when the mail was sent from outlook, there is no file extension in the original email that was sent to Jira's incoming mail handler.
Suggestion
- Jira should be able to detect the file as mail attachment without file extension so that end user can view the .msg file properly after the new issue is created.
