Summary

Text in certain drop down fields, and on certain screens don't appear to be positioned correctly inside the field (e.g. Linked Issues or resolution fields on Issue screens). For instance the tails of small letter y or p etc are cropped at the bottom of the field as shown below

Environment

Browsers from Windows Clients (Win 7, 10 tested) are affected based on our tests. Linux or Mac clients weren't affected regardless of browser.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Set up a fresh JIRA installation and create a sample project.
2. Configure a issue edit or transition screen to include either the Linked issues or Resolution field on the screen respectively.
3. Try to edit or transition an issue

Expected Results

Text is positioned correctly in the middle of the field with some field padding around the edges of the field.

Actual Results

Text appears over-sized in the fields and a small portion of the bottom of the text is cropped out.

• Couldn't reproduce the same issue on JIRA 7.4 using the same clients.
• Could reproduce this on JAC running JIRA 8.0. The following is the same issue shown replicating the issue on a windows client, being unable to reproduce with same issue on JAC when viewed from an Ubuntu client using Chrome as well:
