      Summary

      Adding any string at the end of a plain issue URL causes communication breakdown when adding a comment.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Go to plain issue URL and add a string like an "." or "a" at the end of the URL.
      2. Ex: https://localhost/browse/XXX-1234a
      3. Add a comment

      Expected Results

      The application should add the comment without errors.

      Actual Results

      The application fails to add the comment giving the user a "Communications Breakdown" message:

      Communications Breakdown
      The JIRA server could not be contacted. This may be a temporary glitch or the server may be down.
      Close this dialog and press refresh in your browser

      Workaround

      Removing the character from the URL fix it
