    • We collect Jira feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

      Problem Definition

The documentation around support for the AWS Quickstart template is confusing around what is supported.

Since we wanted to create a quick implementation, the Quick Start doesn't allow the same level of customization as in the case of manual installation. It should be treated as a reference implementation that shows how JIRA Data Center can be used with AWS, and be either used as-is, or serve as an example for creating your own template.

Getting started with Jira Data Center on AWS

      Suggested Solution

As this is similar to using the H2 database for Jira server, we should update our documentation to reflect that the template is for evaluation use only and we recommend to change this to a supported database collation for production use.

      e.g.

JIRA ships with a built-in database (H2). While this database is suitable for evaluation purposes, we strongly recommend that you configure JIRA to use an external database.
