      Problem Definition

JIRA does not have support for Oracle 12c Release 2. This proves to be problematic as this version of Oracle is the updated version, and some users may need to update to this version to receive support from Oracle.

      Suggested Solution

Add Oracle 12c Release 2 as a Supported Platform for JIRA

      Workaround

      None

[JRASERVER-67079] Add Oracle 12c Release 2 as a supported platform

            Hi Hannes,

thank you for your hints. We always checked release notes but not the supported platform page

We'll have to check, if JRASERVER-61163 will affect us.

            Best regards,

            Dirk

            Hi Dirk,

Oracle 12c R2 ist in the list of supported platforms for Jira 7.13.x: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0713/supported-platforms-964983071.html

We already moved our moved our qa system to 12c R2, but we ran into JRASERVER-61163, which is pretty bad. We are currently working on a slightly better workaround than the one from JRASERVER-65708 together with Jira Support.

            Best regards,

            Hannes

Jira 7.13.6 was released on Aug 26, 2019.

Though it was announced there is still no 12c R2 support for it. When do you plan to backport compatibility to 7.13.x Enterprise Release stream?

When is 8.3.0 going to be released? Based on the comments above, it was planned for the end of June.

We were hoping to update to version 8.3.0 for the R2 support but with this latest security advisory, I don't think we can wait. We're really trying to avoid having to upgrade twice.
