Summary:
In case JIRA is started before any of the Development Tools application is starting, JIRA would not show the Development Panel at all until it can reach any of the Applications.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Integrate JIRA with Bitbucket.
- Make a commits through Bitbucket Repo that mentions JIRA tickets inside.
- Confirm that JIRA showed the related commits.
- Stop both instances
- Start JIRA only.
Expected Result:
- JIRA would at least show the old commits.
Actual Result:
- The development panel is missing.
Notes:
- If this is expected, when Bitbucket is down while JIRA is still running, the Development Panel should be missing but, this seems to be not the case. If we stop Bitbucket before JIRA, it still showing the old commits with a warning says that there is a problem with the connection. This should be showing as well when JIRA is starting first before Bitbucket rather than hiding the panel altogether.
- JIRA should be able to get the old data without working connection as it is stored in the database.
Workaround:
- Refresh the connection from Project Settings > Development Tools
