When typing Japanese/Chinese characters, we need to use Japanese IME.
Japanese IME works as follows.
If you would like to type "亜",
- Select Japanese IME
- Type a character "a" ("a" is the pronunciation of "亜")
- Press Space key
- Select "亜" from the candidates of Japanese/Chinese characters whose pronunciation is "a"
- Press Enter key
- Now, the character "a" is converted to "亜"
Please see ime.mov
for the detail.
Workaround
Scenario 1 (Firefox)
Please type more than 2 Japanese characters when mentioning users.
Scenario 2 (Chrome, IE)
Please reload your browser and try to mention the user again.
