      Hi,

Requesting that JIRA KANBAN board have the capabilities to list the policies on each column which acts as exit agreement to move from one state to another. This helps the team and stakeholders to know when a story moves from One Column to another, what criteria are being met.

I just found this plugin. Maybe it'll do the job.

Kanban Combined WIP for Jira Cloud

I can show policies on a board and not affect WIP limits.  I've set up a Issue type called "Kanban Policy" and a sub-type called "Kanban Policy sub-type".  I then have a board filter that doesn't show the "Kanban Policy" issue type and I've set a constraint in the Columns settings of "Issue count, excluding subtasks".  This allows me to have policies (the sub-task) on the board in a "Policies" swimlane and not affect WIP limits.  I've can't attach screenshots unfortunately so hope it's a clear enough description so others can do it too.

            More details:

Board filter query: project = "Business Tech" and "BT Teams[Checkboxes]" = Node and type != "Kanban Policy" ORDER BY Rank ASC

Swimlane query: type = "Kanban Policy sub-type"

Do we need to start a change.org signatures collection process to get this feature or what?

This is basic in Kanban boards pretty much since they were invented back in the 1960's. How come such a popular tool like Jira doesnt have it nor have I seen real workarounds for it? I feel it's a direct attack on the visualizing aspect of Kanban as a way of working...

How is Jira this dominant in the market and still hasn't implemented such a basic and fundamental feature. It's just a text box attached to columns... gummon

I agree, it's a kanban basic, and should be present in any real tool claiming kanban capability. Great submission.

I agree with Tomo's assessment on team performance. This is basic functionality of a kanban and/or a scrumban team that provides a tremendous value to improving quality. IMHO, this should be pervasive on any board as a optional configuration for teams that want to leverage it's power. Please prioritize.

In other tools, I have seen measurable improvements in performance when the team has the done rules attached directly to the board.  Having to dig through a wiki or SharePoint doesn't do it.  I really need this.
