Problem Definition
Starting from JIRA 7.3 project administrator are allowed to edit workflow as long as the project workflow fulfill below criteria:
- The workflow isn't shared with any other projects (it's only available in your project),
- The workflow isn't the default JIRA workflow (no-one can edit these workflows).
However Project administrator cannot configure any resolutions or force users to provide a resolution in a workflow. As mentioned in Workflows, project administrator:
- Create, add, edit or delete transitions (you can't edit a transition's properties, conditions, validators or post-functions).
Due the fact that post function and condition are not allowed to be edited by project admin it makes impossible for project admin to define resolution for an editted workflow.
Suggested Solution
Allow Project admins to edit a transition's properties, conditions, validators or post-functions so that project adminstrator can add resolution or force user to select resolution when an user is closing an issue
