Details

    Description

NOTE: This bug report is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

      Problem

After import from JIRA Server to Cloud, users cannot login into Cloud instance.

      Message:

No error is displayed on screen Users simply can't access the site

      Steps to reproduce

      1. perform a JIRA import

      Expected

Import is successful an users can login

      Result

Import appears to be successful but administrator is logged out and no user can login. Not even sysadmin.
The jira database shows the imported users but they are not in the crowd directory that syncs Cloud applications.
The Crowd db directory is not present in the JIRA DB.

      Verification:

Support can run the following query to detect if the site is affected.

      jira_560571=> select * from cwd_directory;
       id | directory_name | lower_directory_name | created_date | updated_date | active | description | impl_class |
                  lower_impl_class | directory_type | directory_position
      ----+-------------------------+-------------------------+------------------------+------------------------+--------+---------------------------------+-------------------------------------------------+----
      ---------------------------------------------+----------------+--------------------
        1 | JIRA Internal Directory | jira internal directory | 2013-02-28 09:57:51+00 | 2013-02-28 09:57:51+00 | 1 | JIRA default internal directory | com.atlassian.crowd.directory.InternalDirectory | com
      .atlassian.crowd.directory.internaldirectory | INTERNAL | 0
      (1 row)

There should also appear a Crowd directory that links with the user base in Cloud.

      Notes

If a yellow "failed import" message is shown, then it is a different problem. The crowd_directory is also not created when the import fails. This problem is for the import successfully importing JIRA but failing to create the crowd_directory.

      Workaround

Support can investigate if the directory can be added manually to fix the problem. Please contact Cloud Support
