Problem

When changing the issue type icon to a custom image, the custom image is displayed everywhere in JIRA (issue detail page and issue navigator) but not in Issue create screen. It shows the default or previous image.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Go to Issue Types and change one of the issue types icon to a custom image.
      2. Check in the issue navigator and issue detail page if the change have been picked up.
      3. Create an issue and click the issue type dropdown.

      Expected Result

The new custom image should show on the issue type dropdown during issue creation.

      Actual Result

The old image shows rather than the custom one.

      Work-around

Restarting Jira after changing this icon appears to fix this problem.
Reindexing does not appear to have any effect

Shuffling issue types did not refresh icons in Create Issue screen dropdown.

Scriprunner built-in script (Clear classloader or jira internal cache) is a solid solution.

            Hello Colleges,

This is a very annoying bug.
Who wouldn't be tired of explaining to the users you did the change already.

            Workaround that works for me:

edit the Issue type screen scheme > shuffle the issue types around > and save

Let me know if worked as well for you.

Confirmed that the built in scripts method provided by Script Runner fixes this issue.

This showed up for us in Jira Server 7.13.1 as well, but to fix this here is what we did -

You need scriptrunner for doing this
            1. Goto "Built in Scripts" --> Clear classloader or jira internal cache
            2. Clear Jira internal cache
            3. Go to create screen and verify.

I have used Script Runner Built-In Clear Jira Cache function to fix it without restart.

            Looks like working.
