            LOL - 2024 and still radio silence from atlassian. They have had 8 YEARS to comment on this and still nothing. Maybe they're aiming for a 2026 fix on this, so we can all celebrate the 10 year anniversary of this ticket!

            Still experiencing this bug with Jira Data Center 9.12.2 as follows:

            • The Activity Stream gadget is not included in the system dashboard for anonymous users;
            • The Activity view in Project summary is showing the following error message to anonymous users:

              This gadget cannot be displayed on your dashboard. This could be due to a licensing problem or an application error. If you need this gadget, contact your administrator for assistance. Otherwise, you can remove it from your dashboard.

            Turns out that this issue is still present in Jira 8.7.1 (latest release at the time of this comment) - come on guys, 4 years... a little long in the tooth!

            Is this an issue of JIRA moving away from anonymous access of things like dashboards?

            jira.spring.io just got bit by this. While I am more concerned about our logged-in users' experience, as an OSS project we do provide anonymous browse and this does make for a very ugly landing page error https://jira.spring.io/projects/SPR/summary.

            It would be great if this could be fixed!

            It's already in our short-term backlog gerson.santos289789508, but we can not provide an accurate ETA until this can be assigned to a developer in one of our team(s).

            Please watch the issue, as we will update its status when we can share more information on the progress of a potential fix.

            Regards,

            We too get this issue in Jira Software 7.1.6. Big long error message.

            "25% - affects a minority of users or feature is not regularly used" – Since the users are anonymous, and potentially unlimited, this seems like an odd assessment.

            Actually, I'm not sure if my issue is different. I get this error when viewing an individual issue and looking at the Activity tab.
