Description
Problem
When copying text from an HTML email in Microsoft Outlook to a JIRA rich text editor field (e.g,. description/comment fields), the carriage returns and formatting (e.g., bold, links, etc) are removed.
Expected Behavior
Ideally, it would preserve the carriage returns and all formatting. If that's not easily possible, retaining the carriage returns when pasting would be great because it would save us a lot of time reformatting the content.
Environment
- Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
- Microsoft Office 2013
- Firefox 40
- Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.17959
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Outlook
- View an HTML email
- Copy the contents of the email and paste into the JIRA description field
- The carriage returns and formatting will be lost
I have also tested this on a Mac and this does not occur when copying text from an HTML email in Outlook 2016 that's part of Office 2016 for Mac. JIRA will retain the carriage returns, but remove the formatting. I tested this in Google Chrome 44.0..2403.157 (64-bit) and Firefox 40.0.3 on the Mac.
