NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Server. Using JIRA Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
Summary
In JIRA, according to the Atlassian Design Guidelines relative dates are shown such as "Yesterday". The absolute date and time can be shown using a tooltip.
Earlier versions of JIRA presented the relative date as "Yesterday 5:00pm", which helped JIRA users determine when yesterday the date is making reference to, which is useful when dealing with young dates.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a new issue in JIRA (version 6.3+)
- Wait a day.
- Observe the Created date is in-line with the Atlassian Design Guidelines
- Observe that there is no option to show the time without hovering over the date.
Expected Results
A method to show the relative date with a time.
Actual Results
No option to show the relative date with the time.
Notes
This is not a bug, but a feature request. The documentation Customizing the Look and Feel provides details about Time Formats in JIRA.
