Summary

      Cannot add watchers via the count icon in some situations.

      Steps to Reproduce

      Situation #1

      1. Edit a field through 'inline editing';
        Some fields will not cause the behavior (eg. Summary, Priority)
      2. Click on the Watchers' count icon to add a new watcher;
      3. Frame will not be displayed

      Situation #2

      1. Search for issues using the "Issue Navigator"
      2. Set visualization to "Detail View"
      3. Click on the Watchers' count icon to add a new watcher;
      4. Frame will not be displayed

      Situation #3

      1. Search for issues using the Service Desk Agent's Queue
      2. Select any issue in the queue
      3. Click on the Watchers' count icon to add a new watcher;
      4. Frame will not be displayed

      Expected Results

      JIRA Should display the "Add Watchers" frame below the Watchers icon

      Actual Results

      No frame is displayed

      Workaround

      Situation #1
      Simply refreshing the page gets the feature working back again.

      Situation #2
      Open the issue on a separate tab/window (outside the "Issue Navigator") or use the More > Watchers link.

      Situation #3
      Open the issue on a separate tab/window to open the View Issue screen or use the More > Watchers link.

            [JRASERVER-42768] "Watchers" frame sometimes not displayed

            We use the JIRA Watcher Field plug in to add watchers at issue creation, so here is some additional data.
            IF an issue has a watcher already, the count icon seems to work from the issue summary page.
            If the issue has a 'zero' in the count icon, it's not clickable.
            *Once in a blue moon it works, though?
            More>Watchers works every time.

            Windows 7. Same behavior in IE, Chrome and Firefox.

            +1 to Stephen's experience,

            I've added all debug information and a screen capture video of this occurring on a completely fresh JIRA instance on a support ticket (staff see: JSP-230729)

            The method I am able to reproduce this behavior via inline editing of a text field is by adding/editing a comment:

            1. Upon initially navigating into an existing issue, I am able to open the Manage Watchers pop-up.
            2. I add a comment to this issue.
            3. After the comment is added, I am no longer able to open the Manage Watchers pop-up
            4. If I refresh the page or navigate away and then back again the Manage Watchers pop-up is accessible.

            Confirmed Situation #2 and #3.

            Could you please let us know which field do trigger Situation #1, we need to know this to ensure we test the fix properly. I have expedited to work on this asap, as this is a recent regression.

            It appears that this also occurs in the Service Desk queue view (JIRA 6.4.1, Service Desk 2.3.4), i.e. https://jira.endurance.com/servicedesk/agent/ABC/queues/123/ABC-123

            I really would like this issue fixed as well. I normally never hear any complaints after an upgrade and I have had many over this one issue.

            Very disappointing regression. It's a minor feature, but I use it multiple times per day. Please fix as soon as possible.
