Jira should provide the ability to store the attachments in the database.
- Avoid limitations when using file storage systems
- Allow for better backup strategies to be used
Confluence has this feature and it seems inconsistent not to have make this available in Jira.
Note: This issue has been opened after JRA-806 has been marked as Wont Fix with seemingly no explanation. Please re-visit this issue and if it really can't be included, please at least give us some feedback as to why.
There seems to be many users still asking for a long time now.
