Currently JIRA by default displays all dates relative to when they occurred, as per the below screenshot:
This can be configured on a system-wide basis to be displayed as an actual date:
It can be configured instance-wide by setting the below in the $JIRA_HOME/jira-config.properties file as per How to edit the jira-config.properties file:
jira.lf.date.relativize = false
This would be great to have editable in individual User Preferences and also in the global default preferences (similar to the functionality that autowatch uses).
