A feature request that has come from my development team is the ability to "Request Comment/Update/More Info", which would mail the indicated person (either an email address or registered user) with the Issue ID, an appropriate link, and possibly a comment logged at time of 'requesting update/comment', so that developers could get feedback/guidance on issues on request, as opposed to reassigning the issue in question (which is the only alternative we can see), as the developer would still be working on the issue, but wants to keep all info inside the jira workflow rather than taking questions etc offline and loosing some context for the issue.
