      When you have 400 custom fields and 12 field configurations, it takes a long time to go through the other 11 field configurations and hide each new field. Fields clutter up the simple issue search interface if they are not marked as hidden in their field configuration. Removing a field from a screen does not help that.

      Ideally, when you create a new custom field, you should be able to specify which field configurations it is enabled in.
