When attempting to click a link for an attachment of an unknown file type in Chrome v16+, Chrome doesn't attempt to download or display any kind of dialog. There is only a message in the dev tools console stating:

Resource interpreted as Other but transferred with MIME type undefined

The network tab of the dev tools shows the download as being cancelled as well. The current workaround for this is to right-click on any attachments and select Save As.
