When installing JIRA and selecting to install a service, it installs the service with the name of "Apache Tomcat 6" now instead of naming it according to the name you specify during installation as it did previously. I first noticed this when installing 4.3.2, and so i have 4.3.2 already installed, then i tried to install 4.3.3 in parallel and it errors during the service install with the following error:
[2011-05-13 09:52:14] [info] Service JIRA130511095110 name Apache Tomcat 6
[2011-05-13 09:52:14] [error] The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name.
So, i can not install multiple versions on the same server in order to test anymore. This will also effect upgradability down the road if that is what the service is named.
I know that it is possible to install the service manually, however, it is much easier to have the windows installer install it for us. Also, to install a service manually, it is required to have a JDK installed, and there is no other reason for us to install a JDK, so i would prefer to not install it if i don't need to.
Can this please be looked into and reverted to the previous method of installing the service used in 4.2.4 and earlier versions? Thanks.
